Mathison Family | Flower Mound family photographer
One of the neat things about getting to do a portrait session for another photographer is that they often pick a fun location (a creek full of rocks and ledges) and select great outfits (coordinating but not too matchy) for their family. By the way, see Mom’s heels? I hope you’re appropriately impressed that she navigated all those rocks and water and managed to stay completely dry! Of course, she had a gentleman of a husband to help her across. These two Mathison boys are sharp–and I’m not just talking about their clothes. They kept me on my toes. My usual silly “get some giggles and grins” antics were met with some dead serious logical retorts. We still had plenty of fun, though, including some leaf races. Anything that involves throwing items into water is a winning activity for boys, right?
Speaking of which, you want to know what made Mom’s already beautiful face light up like this? We talked a bit about her boys. Despite how tempting that creek was both boys managed to stay dry to the very end of the session. I was told, though, that the trick to getting such great compliance might have been a little bit of bribery. Yes, even photographer’s kids sometimes need a little incentive. (Okay, especially photographer’s kids. We often say they have something called PKS. Photographer’s Kid Syndrome.) As an added bonus the youngest two Mathisons got to enjoy the nearby park after the session. You can see that this one might have shown just a little bit of enthusiasm as he headed to the playground.
