Silva Family | Grapevine Family Lifestyle Session
It makes a family photo session extra special when you’ve known the family for years. In fact, I photographed all three children as newborns. They’re an exuberant, fun-loving family who is always quick to give great hugs. I think we captured images that showcase those very attributes during a lifestyle portrait session at their favorite Grapevine park. 
If you schedule a lifestyle portrait session with me you should know I’ll be snapping away before we even get to the “official” location. (Which sometimes means following along behind you.) It’s one more way to get genuine interactions and expressions and to help the kids warm up to the camera. On this day I was able to catch a spontaneous group hug–starting as an “attack” by little brother–along the way.
The Silvas are a musical family. Thiago plays the guitar in his church’s worship team and Michelle used to sing in a traveling choir. I love to incorporate family interests and favorite activities into a session to personalize each experience. Here you can see the family dancing to one of their favorite new songs (from the new Toby Mac album!), singing, and learning to play the guitar. 
Remember my earlier warning about taking photos before the session officially starts? It works on the flip side, too. Even when a lifestyle session is “finished” I’ll still have my camera out and at the ready. Inevitably I’ll see something just begging to be photographed, like kids sweetly holding their mom’s hand as they walk back to the car. Even better is a puddle on the path that made for some perfect reflection photos. A sweet ending to a crazy but fun session.
